銀月亭: A Where Winds Meet RP Guild

銀月亭: Silver Moon Pavilion Sect & Yueyin Valley Town

[Casual to Heavy Wuxia Role Play]

Nestled deep in a remote northern forest there rests a town forgotten by time. So remote that the far reaching rule of the Imperial Court seems to have forgotten it's existence - or perhaps they simply don't care anymore. It is not a politically significant location, nor is it rich in resources. Perhaps it's most fruitful resources are the people who call it home.Yueyin Valley, once called the valley where the moon hides is, to the rest of the world, a place that's only rumored to exist. A merchant in Kaifeng City might say "Yueyin Valley? That's only a child's tale."And yet it thrives, surviving on the backs of the resilient residents of this small town; with the protection of the Silver Moon Pavilion Sect.Where the moon's reflection rests upon still waters, the Pavilion keeps watch.Yueyin Valley Town and the Silver Moon Pavilion sect have a long and interwoven history. Long has the sect protected the town from raids, famine, and plagues that spread like wildfire. In return, the townspeople keep the sect a secret, leaving it's name safely within the gates should any of the residents go wandering the Jianghu.Yueyin Valley residents value a simple life; a haven away from the troubles of war, political game-playing, and troubles far beyond their capabilities to solve.Silver Moon Pavilion values compassion, honor, loyalty, personal growth, and the pursuit of one's own path beneath the endless sky.

What does Silver Moon Pavilion Do?

Besides being the long-time protectors of Yueyin Valley Town, Silver Moon Pavilion is known for:Finding & remembering what has been lost.Lost people.
Lost histories.
Lost techniques.
Lost names.
They are compassionate protectors before anything else; but also scholars, lorekeepers, healers, martial artists, and everyday tradesfolk.Rather than having a ranking system or "pecking order" the sect operates as a council - all decisions are made as a group with the sect Master present. The sect Master serves to guide and help organize matters, delegate work and assign roles per the skills of the individual, the needs of the sect missions, and the everyday life of Yueyin Valley residents. The sect operates under several divisions, each with an intended purpose:

THE MOONLIT ARCHIVE // HALL OF FORGOTTEN NAMESExists to collect/protect:☾ ancient texts
☾ martial manuals
☾ forgotten histories
☾ maps
☾ medical knowledge
☾ folk traditions & music
They memorialize:☾ the fallen (warriors, important jianghu figures, people lost to illness, former townsfolk/sect members, etc.)
☾ the parents/families of orphans
☾ defunct sects/towns/groups
☾ historical/spiritual figures

THE SILVER LANTERN NETWORKA network of informants.Sect members who travel incognito as:
☾ merchants
☾ healers
☾ performers
☾ scholars
☾ monks
☾ wandering martial artists
They quietly gather information. They know things before others do.They are essential to field work involving the rescue of slaves, kidnapped or endangered people, lost orphans, etc.

THE VERMILION SERPENTSThe "strike team" that operates under subterfuge and martial mastery to conduct field work (rescues, assessing or vanquishing dangerous threats, recovery of stolen goods, etc.)

THE SERPENT'S REFUGE NETWORKYueyin Valley Town provides hidden sanctuary. Anyone fleeing injustice may seek temporary shelter here.In certain circumstances, the sect can provide false identity assistance. However:
The Pavilion does not protect criminals.
Their rule:
"The hunted may enter. The hunter may not."

About Yueyin Valley Town

Yueyin Valley Town is surrounded by vast walls, and those who enter can only enter through one gate (in the guild hall, this is the gate closest to where the arena is).Inside this main entryway lies the whole of Yueyin Valley Town. This is the "public facing" area of the region - meaning anyone can enter here if they have managed to find their way to the gate.Though the town is remote and nestled high in difficult to pass terrain, it still manages to see a fairly regular flow of visitors bringing trade, entertainment, and word from the outside. The town provides many services to these visitors, including a tea house, gaming & entertainment halls, bath houses, and so on.At the far end of the town lies another massive wall, and a gate that is guarded 24/7 - beyond this wall lies Silver Moon Pavilion sect territory, and only sect members or those with approved business may enter. There is no slick way to sneak around this; lightness skills mysteriously do not work in range of the wall, so you can't just climb/jump over (even if game mechanics would allow you to do so) . Furthermore, the townspeople keep watch as much as the guards. Just assume you will be caught if you try.If you are caught trying to enter sect territory without permission, you will be expelled from Yueyin Valley Town, no questions asked. Please respect the lore of the role play and stay within the town if you do not have IC reason/permission to be within sect territory.

(extended Town history & lore coming soon)
